This conference will lay the groundwork for efficient and pragmatic cooperation to provide functional and operational responses to the stranding of Sargassum which has become recurrent in the Caribbean. It will bring together heads of state, regional and international organizations, private sector, members of civil society, researchers and academics from the Caribbean.
The first day will be dedicated to the state of knowledge on sargassum and remote sensing. The second day will be an opportunity for participants to share experiences and strategies put in place to contend, collect and valorize the algae. On this occasion the winners of the joint call "Sargassum" will be unveiled. Finally, the last day will bring together heads of state of the Caribbean as well as international and regional organizations and will be an opportunity to reflect on the definition of a common geopolitical strategy.
A trade show will bring together international companies working in the areas of prevention, collection, processing and appreciation of Sargassum seaweed.
